| Bio description: | My name is Debra Horton. I have been teaching full time inside and outside the classroom for virtual and in person learning. I have also tutored in many capacities outside my full time work in college courses and math prep for the Praxis exam. In my undergraduate college years, I tutored my peers in the basic math courses such as Algebra 1, Trigonometry, and Calculus for about 2 years. I currently serve now as a certified math teacher at a middle school in Jackson. I enjoy teaching and love relating math to others most of all. My goal when tutoring anyone in math is to help make math relatable for them and enjoyable. Former students and clients of mine have told me that their view of math changed positively after being taught/ tutored by me- whether it became more enjoyable and a favorite subject for them or easier to understand and a boost of confidence in their math abilities. |
